after watching it again with these subtitles it does seem that he is a little deluded in how she treats him. In the other version of subs I saw for this it made it look like she made fun of her sister for getting angry whereas this version makes it stand out that she doesnt see him as nothing more than a servant for her family.

Yeah I read the English one that you linked, it was machine translated and someone just cleaned it up the grammars and some spellings, pity they didnt use another site for translation like another group that is doing it for another novel, they are pumping out 35 chapters a week which is a very heavy workload if you are straight translating it and not using a machine, even if you have 4 translators working on it

The author is very long-winded though, and tends to repeat things that's already written before AND it gets annoying when bystanders starts to give their opinions on the situation that is occurring right in front of them, then the author describes some random thing that is indirectly related to it, then goes back and writes about other stuff and around the end of the chapter goes back to the topic

I am currently reading the novel Dragon Emperor, Martial God right now and it is not too bad. Modern scene, guy from cultivation world reincarnates into the body of same named poor fat weak loser guy in China. Up to chapter 695 and while entertaining it is again all the same tropes. I have read so many it gets really repetitive. Unless I see some thing new and better I think I may have got almost all the cultivation novel itch fully scratched.

Sadly most cultivation novels follow the same tropes and cliches, Fanren does a better job but it isnt for everyone, since it is very slow paced and boring lol

But at least Fanren is more matured like this show Yong Sheng and not like Douluo Dalu, even up to today the characters still making those cringy lame & unfunny jokes, expressions & actions...at least Doupo Cangcong (Battle Through The Heavens) had chenged to a more matured & sserious theme from Season 4 onwards

You should check out Story of Yanxi Palace...Its the best show about slaves/low level scums, about how a newly lowest rank maid climbed all the way to the very top and became a Empress Dowager using purely on her quick wits...The cinematography, set pieces & acting by every casts in the show are truly amazingly spectacular!
